India, don't betray your child...

If there is any event that needs to be remembered as the positive side of the most terrible year, 2008, then it has to be the way in which the 2008 Olympics was organized by China. The entire world was amazed by the best ever games given by China. Many Indians not only agreed on it but also said proudly that India too can host a similar kind of world class event and prove that India is not far behind china in conducting world class events too. I was one among those mighty Indians. We all thought that it is good that India has bagged the 2010 commonwealth games and India will use this as a medium to showcase our abilities to the entire world. We all were hopping and was eagerly waiting to see what does my country going to offer to this world.

But what we seeing today is comes as a biggest disappointment to all those Indians who sang the song of India. The comments passed by CWG games chief, chairman and delay in the grounds for the games, preparation for the games makes us to fee that we don’t have the talent to conduct any world class events. But in reality I feel that the case is not about having talent to conduct these type of games, but it is about having good management to conduct these type of events. If we have all corrupted politicians and corrupted officers in the games organizing team then these things are bound to happen. India has to realize this game is one of the important medium available to prove our capability and get better stand in the world and also bid for other major events like Olympics. Indian government should pull this out and do it in the best way. By doing so it will not only increase India’s imagine but also make fellow citizens like me to sing the song of India proudly and loudly.

As a mighty Indian let us wish India turn this one around and come out with flying colours.

The battle is still on, but in a different venue....

Years ago, kings battled, in land, for fame. As the time passed by the mode of battle changed. It is no longer a battle of blood and life, rather it is from on field battle to sports field battle, from currency power to oil power. But the motto of the battle, fame, has not changed and I presume that it will not change any time sooner. The latest addition to battle mode is the space war, which was dominated by the Americans and the Russians, in 20th century. USA’s NASA had been the commanding authority to whatever happens in space. They dominated such that all the space findings were patented to their name and the rest of the world followed them.

We are not sure whether the 21st century is going to be same as 20th century, but in space research it is not going be. With just about 8 years passed in the century, we have already started to witness a shift in power in this area. Yes, the power shift is from USA and Russia to China and India. With China moving towards building more powerful satellites and allocating more funds to their space research and India’s successful satellite upgrades and moon mission, one can certainly say that the space war’s gravity is on India and China.

World’s strongest belief, one of the driest component of the universe is moon, was proved wrong by the India’s maiden moon mission Chandrayan-I. Chandrayan-I’s finding of water molecules in moon has shocked pioneer astronauts and the space dominants. Months ago when world, local media and critics criticised ISRO, when they announced that Chandrayan-I stopped functioning in space. Now the same set of people is praising the same team for their marvellous findings. This finding has not only got fame to India’s space department but also sent a strong signal to the world that in the race to next super power, India is on par with China in space department too, which is offcourse a bad signal to China.

With growing tension in Indo-china border and in political wing of both countries, experts see this as a major heap to India. As a normal Indian, it is a matter of pride to for us too. Now that the world has turned towards us with this, we should capitalise the opportunity and grow as much as we can to make this 21st century not American’s or Russian’s or Chinese’s rather it is of Indian’s. For this not only the Indian government but also the Indians has to work harder. After all, the path to glory is not easy. In this battle for fame, no matter whether we win or lose, I think the activities done by the rulers should be in such a way that it benefits the common man and improves his living standard.

As we slowly march towards into the 21st century, let us hope that we Indians will get a time to proudly say “I belong to a developed country”.

Buzzing again.

After very long time, I am back to buzz here.... This time from a different time zone, Sydney.
After a long fight with my apartment owner, I got the Internet connections, not that I never surfed Internet so far, it is just that I don't had my own.

Well, Sydney is nice, not a great climate, but with lot of immigrants. One can hardly see Aussies here. Mechanical life. Not as good as UK. 30+ store buildings, opera house, harbour bridge etc.. lot of buzzing activities..

After a long break with laziness, I am here to write solid articles again.. Will release one every week starting this week. Some of the topic I have shortlisted are
1) Aftermath in BJP.
2) Review of Indian and world economy.
3) Some philosophy
4) Review of 100+ days of UPA govt.
5) Some patent ideas of mine...

and many more.... so watch this space... any other suggestions and topics are welcome..

See you soon with an article.

Wow… What a weekend it was!!!

I am writing this post with full of happiness and tiredness, the reason for both is the weekend enjoyment. Pizza, KFC chicken, night stay, drive, hangout, restaurants, laugh, enjoyment, tease and what not.. it was a fun packed weekend. Let me brief…

Beautiful and pleasant Friday…..

The show started with Eswar’s treat in Nalas, even though the bill was not as high as I expected, the fun I had was more than I expected. I made Eswar to eat a new aged biriyani , which had the mixture of 7up and Count milk J. Musthak did not contribute much because avnuikku pichukichi…J

Then dinner in Pizza hut with Sajjad and night stay with him in Srini’s house. Both were sweat in its own way. We discussed a lot … some laugh and advices were there.

Enthralling Saturday

Saturday morning was pleasant as I went to lot of temples. Afternoon and evening was even better, I was busy shopping reception suit for Sajjad. We went to lot of places, but I would say Raymonds was the best, they had very good collection and varieties from jothpuries to suits to dinner suits, which confused Sajjad’s mind, because of which we went back without buying anything.

From there I headed to Rajaram’s house for a quick dinner and chat. It is nice to see your friend’s family and enjoy dinner with them. Chappathi with daal, which tasted similar to the one I used to have in their house in UK.

Then headed to the peak event of the day, the meet of the titans. I meet KP, Ganesh and Ramesh, my school mates. This meet was not at all in my schedule. We went to Madhura restaurant and we were eating literally till the owner pushed us to leave. We were literally laughing the whole night passing comments about each other and the girls out there in the restaurant. What a night it was!!!

From 11:30PM to 1:00AM I had the all important call with Fahad and Vijay.

Romantic and enjoyable Sunday

The day started late at 12PM with hot mutton kuruma and idilies. After lunch from the hands of my sweat amma, I went to KP’s house and again Ganesh joined us to head to shopping in Spencers, thou we did not buy anything, we had nice burgers and chicken in KFC. Those were yummy.

At 6:30 PM, I headed to another peak event, the meet at BARBQUE nations, man it was awesome to have your long dream full filled. The place and the music band were great. Ashok was at his best. Eswar and myself was teasing each other as usual and Rash got lost in band’s music. I recommend this place for any kind of party, the ambience; food and music were simply super. I had lot of fun. We literally danced sitting ….and as usual Ashok and Eswar teased myself and Rash…. We completed the dinner at 10 and myself and Rash spend some time in Somasundram grounds before heading to my sweat bed J….

It was an amazing weekend, exactly the one I wanted before I leave to Australia. Till I get the next chance to enjoy like this …. let me sign off

Most Probably the last weekend in India for the year 2009…..

Most Probably the last weekend in India for the year 2009…..

Now that it is almost certain I will be taking off to Sydney coming Friday. The situation is turning out to make this as my last weekend in India in this year. I am planning to utilize this weekend to the max I can and enjoy the place and things which I love the most. On Friday, I am planning to spend time with my Satyam friends having lunch in Nala’s appa kadai. This will be the perfect start to the enjoyment. Well this is Eswar’s last day in Satyam, so he has planned to make it as a treat. So I should make sure that I utilize this opportunity to tease him and to make him to pay a huge amount. After that I might hang out with friends probably in hearts or beach. Mostly should spend time with Sajjad. It has been really a long time since I spend some time with him alone. Saturday I should start with some temples and go out for shopping with Sajjad, this time it is for even more interesting occasion, to buy the marriage suit for him. J Nice right J Evening probably should spend some time with Prasad or go out to Raj’s house, yet to decide on that. Again I should start the Sunday with temples then stretch it out for a nice non vegetarian lunch in home and then plan for besi beach or bar b queue nations or hang out with Prasad.

Some other stuffs which I need to feed in is a movie, spend time in my favorite location in Chennai, boat stop near marina shores, besi beach and some driving in Honda Activa. Some more chapters in the novel, etc.,

Let me see how many things I can do… fingers crossed J

Life without this ancient technology….

Yesterday I gave my spectacles for a lens replacement. Since it takes a day to replace it, I was forced to wear my old spectacles, which I hate to wear, because its design replicates Gasndhi’s spectacle. Most of the time I used to remove it and roam around with my naked eyes,J. Today, I decided to walk without my spectacles from the second block of my office to the first block, which will cover at least a distance of half a kilometer. Well I would say thou I could manage to do it, I could not see any objects clearly. I could figure out a person but can’t clearly sketch his face, I could figure a pillar in front of me but not the design on it, I could see some notice on the boards but not the characters on it. For a movement I thought what would have happen to my life if this spectacles is not available, well I could not imagine. Yes this ancient technology has made my life normal even thou I am not normal. Thanks you spectacles.

Best way to be happy through out...

According to me, the best way to be happy through out your life is to keep your expectations to the minimal level. Only then all things happening around will be a unexpected surprise and it will bring out happiness in you....

The much awaited night

The much awaited night

July 22nd night, the night for which three different attitude guys strived for. Sajjad, Srini and myself had our much needed night stay in our favorite hangout place, Srini’s house, I always had a doubt whether anyone in our gang will enjoy any resort stay better than Srini’s house stay. And as usual the night was packed with lots and lots of excitement, drinks and laughs.

Enjoying the liquid in the glass!!

Any party has to start with a glass of wine, isn’t it?

We started the hangout in Srin mama’s place and went to Srini’s Favorite place, Esthel. As usual our gang leader, Srini, started to have vodka with orange juice, what a deadly combination and taste he has, while our drunker Saju, started with typical whisky and sprite…. I had three different mock tails, but all tasted the same J

As the number of rounds went on, we started to have lot of emotional dialogue, which is obvious, since we are meeting after long time. And as the time went on.. Saju and myself teased our mama by crossing his personal limits. And we had lots of disclosers from our man Saju, which was typical Saju’s style J.

Enjoying the different liquid, the one in the beach!!

Who said the liquid in the glass is the only liquid which gives the enjoyment?

Then, as I requested, we went to Besi beach, man it was the best place to be at night 12AM, the best place to do romance or whatever you want to do… while Saju and myself was enjoying the occasion, Srini mama was more worried about the cops J, but still he went on to have two cigarettes and enjoyed the movement.

Midnight Dosa!!

You should have heard about midnight masala but here you have a midnight dosa

The time was 12:30 and it was time for us to have dinner, we had hot dosas in a small shop. It was great to see a dosa shop opened at that time too, in that mid night too we waited for fifteen minutes to get a dosa, so was the crowd in that shop. After the dinner we went back to Srini’s home, on the way we searched for cigarettes but in vain. The tip of the iceberg topic was Sajjad’s fear to get married. Our great experienced mama explained what is what to Sajjad, I was just observing the things unfolding in front of me and enjoying it.

Can I have one more beg, please?

Enjoyment, drinks, beach, teasing, love, emotions and what not, everything was running high and it made the evening as a pleasant one and converted to a sweet memory. Now that all of our gang member are going to get married soon, I, who will be the only person who will be single at least for another year or two, do not know whether I will ever get a chance like this to have a night stay? Well I seriously doubt, the chances are very less. I just wish and pray god to give me at least one chance, in a year or two, to have a good night stay, like this, with the entire gang. Until I get my next beg, night stay, it is me, Anguz, signing off!!

Solution to problem...

Many say for any problem time is the only solution... but I would like to add one more thing to it...

Time and people are the only solution to any problem... try it out it works... :)

Are we in the mid of changing India?

Ever since the new Indian government sworn in, I, as a normal Indian, could see a notable difference in the way this government is taking forward its activities. Normally when a new government sworn in, we see a bunch of ministers take different positions; the allies that have good numbers take away the better positions and then the ministers takes position in front of media and then the story ends there. We won’t be having much inputs after that nor from the ministers or from the PMO regarding any sort of notable progress or targets set to achieve.  We the people also get along with this without doing much. End of the five year term we would have seen one or two notable move by the government in the each sector.

Unusually this time we are seeing some different and unbelievable pictures. How often we have seen a government allocating correct and reputed person for each industry? How often we have seen a government rejecting people who have not performed well in they previous term? How often we have seen a government which has clear targets for each sector? How often we have seen a government setting a 100 days target and trying to achieve it? Well we are seeing all this unfolding in front of us for the past few days. For once we are getting good signals from the government for a major reform. These signals clearing shows a clear sign of changing and gigantic India. Hope this signals strengthen further and transforms into good energy and empower every Indian citizen and make India a better country to live in.

If I were the Prime minister

If I were the Prime Minister…..

In this article I would like to highlight some point which I will do if I were the prime minister of this country….

è     Classification of people based on caste system will be scrapped. Most of the confusions and misuse of power and regulation happens because of this caste based system. I will introduce a new system which will classify people based on their economy status, education e.t.c., this system will evaluate each and every family and will rate them accordingly.

è     All reservations in the post graduate courses will be sleeved. Every state will have an IIT, IIM, NIT & a state based central university. This will ease the supply and demand condition for quality educations.

è     Any reservation, if needed, will be based on new classification scheme and not on caste system.

è     Enhance the quality of universities by giving world class level facilities.

è     Good rewards scheme to enhance the interest among lectures and professor to excel in their areas.

è     Number of Kendra vidhyala schools will be increased in urban and semi urban areas. In village, taluk and town areas a new model schools will be introduced. These schools will enhance the quality of the students in these areas.

è     Good rewards for the corporate which invests in education.

è     All state capitals will be connected with express highways.

è     All major ports and airports will be enhanced to world class standards.

è     Bank lending rates will be reduced.

è     All slums inside the cities will be removed and new low cost houses will be allocated to the slum people.

è     All rivers will be connected which will be done in different stages.

è     Health and sanitary system will be improved, steps to be taken to achieve 1 doctor for every 200 people in the country.

è     Electricity, hospital and schools and economic center will be made available for every village.

è     All individual will be given electronic identity card cum finance card, using which the person can attach his bank account to it and do all transactions. Any transactions which costs over and above 9999 have to be made via this card. This will reduce the corruption.

è     Right to information act will be strengthen further to give access to most of the government related activities.

è     All major transactions, tenders, bill payments, government allocations will be done in electronic mode. This will reduce the corruption and also this project will be handled by government owned IT companies, thus increasing the jobs.

è     Instead of dividing India into four major regions like north south, west & east the country will be divided into further regions to ease the facilities available across country men in ease.

è     Taxes for the corporate which invests in social wellness will be reduced.

è     Excise duty for basic ammonites will be reduced. Economic reform to allow more FDI will be done.

è     Up gradation of small scale industries to medium sized and medium sized to large scale will encouraged.

è     Right to have a job at least 100 days a year for all citizen over 18 years will be made mandatory.

è     Micro economics for each and every district will be activated.

è     Amount of money spent by the party or others for a candidate standing in a election will be limited and monitored.

è     E-waste and global warming factors will be keen importance.

These are the few things which I could think of at the movement.. will be adding more if I get some….

I am not sure whether all the activities listed above are practically possible or will aid any result on implementation, but these things will definitely change the way we look the system….

India's Yes We can!!

The D-day:

20th January 2008, the day, which created history, excited the world and cautioned the rise of one man, Barack Obama. Yes! It was a day, when Obama changed his title from US president elect to US president, the day on which people around the world gathered in Washington to climbs the unfolding history.

Unlike India’s political gathering, this gathering was filled with not only with the party worker but also with common people, who were from different longitude and latitude of the world. The people were enthralled, as if all their worries are going to be sorted out immediately. This showed the confidence the people had on their president elect. People enjoyed as if the king is out there to make their life fill with glory. People around the world celebrated as if it is rise of new glorious era, in this recession period. Best example is all national news channels in India, a country which is not much affected nor least affected by the US president chance, telecasted the entire evening celebrations live and the TRP of this program was all time high. These events resembled to the rise of King Alexander.

Isn’t it high time for Indian version of Yes we can?

I wonder when India will get a day like this. A day on which we Indians can be proud of our prime minister, politicians & system. At this moment the chances are less. If there is any Indian, who can create a charisma like Obama did then it has to be our people’s president, Abdul Kalam. But the chances of he contesting an election is almost negligible. And I don’t see any other person who can be like him in near future. I doubt even in so called India’s year, 2020, we will have a person like that. This leaves us with only one thing, a collective change from politicians to people.

“The NOs to YES! we can”

Who should be blamed for this status of India? The Politicians or the system or we the people? I would say it is a combination of all. How many of we really exercised our voting power properly to elect a good person?

The people’s No

Many consider the day as an extra holiday and continue to blame the government. Even if we vote, we won’t vote for a new and educated people, we will still vote for a tainted politician. Why we are not ready to give a chance to new educated and potential candidates?. So fault of we registering only 55 % of turnout and not selecting a proper person is one of the main reason for it.

The system’s No

Next comes our system, our system is designed in such a way that a person having 100s of backlog criminal cases can contest to any highest post in India, which by itself is contradicting to what we want, need for a great leader.   Our system is also designed with our local communal forces, unions which will always work the way it wanted rather than what the country needs. For example unnecessary strikes and low productivity. Corruption, lack of good mangers and reservations are the major contributor to what we are now.

A big no from politician.

Next comes our politicians, best example is we have a prime minister candidate of a national party, who declares that his election campaign is more important than visiting Mumbai during the worst terror attack of India. As long as we have people like this, what else we can expect from them? When entire world is looking for youth our top post candidates are always 75+. And next is rise of small politicians, who use useless issues like caste, communalism to gain points. For them Tamil is more important than India as a whole, small land in Bengal is more important than globalisation of India. Examples are Gujjar issue, LTTE issue, protest for Tata nano factory. Supporting communalism is more important for some than the much needed nuclear deal. Building a hindu temple is more important than the building good infrastructure. When a person who sold India for his person need (in sports) can become important face of a national party, what else we say about our politicians?

Yes, We can!!!

All this has to be changed, I know it will take time but then it has to begin, seeds for a banyan tree has to be laid with a small effort but it also needs continuous efforts to grow it. We cannot simply sit back and continue to seek for person growth after raising slogans like “Enough is Enough”. All the aforementioned things will change only if we change, only if we can everything will change… as we said “Enough is Enough “is not only for the politicians it is also for us.. let us change and make a prosperous India and make the entire world look at us and feel jealous as we did at USA.

Be the change you wanted to be….. and yes we can change all these in India. Yes we can!!

Hand vs Lotus Vs mixture

Exactly 18 days from today, world's largest democorcy is going to polls. Unlike last election, this election is having a triangular competetion, in which all three has equal advantage and disadvantage. In this post, let me try and figure out some of the pros and corns of them. Before jumping into the topic, I just want to make some genralized point on this election and here are they.

Positivie points:
Unlike any other elections this election has
-> Major campign by various NGOs and individuals seeking common man to vote.
-> Elections campaingn switched from road to internet.
-> More emphasis on youth.
-> Some clear cut message on India's growth is avaliable in each of the major party's mainfesto.

Negative points:
Like any other elections, this election also has
-> Caste and commmunal based campaign
-> Change of coaliation by parties for money and mere politics.
-> Lot of party's candidate continue to have maximum criminal records.
-> Money for vote still continues.

Now as I said before, let me run through all major parties pros and corns.

Let us start with the national flower:

BJP led NDA.

Pros:
-> Good campaign technique, they have quickly adapted to modern world, by giving ads in almost all top sites that we indians access.
-> Manifesto of BJP is in detail, which explains what the party will do in each sector, but will they do it?.
-> Narendar Modi's vibrant gujarat is major boast as it is projected as key factor.
-> Has very good leaders like Advani,Arun, Modi, Jaswant e.t.c
-> Have clear advantage in most of the northern states of india
-> All the coailation has the capacity to win seats in election.
-> Anyone who is not happy with the current govt will obivosly select NDA.

Corns:
-> Following Hinduthuva.
-> Split in high profile leaders.
-> In Tamilnadu (40),Kerala(20),AP(42),UP(80) BJP does not have good presence nor a good coialiation to win seats, which means NDA is contesting in mere 400+ seats and not 543.
->Unneccesary points by some of the party members like Varun's.

Next let me keep my hand on the hand.

Pros:
-> Have better leaders and economist like Manmohan, FM etc.,
-> The govt has done some good work, it depends on how they are going to project it.
-> Have lot of young leaders, who can deliver.

Crons:
-> Have lost few important alies like Lallu, PMK.
-> In general people have bad opinion about the current government.
-> Does not have a strong Mainfesto.
-> Does not have a better campaign statergy.

Next on the mixture...

Pros

-> Lot of small party.
-> Being a alternative for BJP and Congress.

Crons:
-> Too many party with no common goal
-> Too many big player.
-> Many high class voter dont support LEFT.

On the whole, my wish is, be it NDA & UPA the progress will be kind of ok, but dont want to give my future to a coaliation, which has parties that opposed important deals like nuclear deal, a deal which is so important to India.

Nothing is permanent

Life has given enough signals that it is not easy and cannot be taken for granted. Especially from Jan 7th 2008. Yes, I am talking about the events that unfolded in Satyam. Thou I know that as long I am sticking to this IT world my future and safety is always uncertain, this event had explained everything clearly. And the message from the universe is loud and clear to all IT professionals. It is up to us to take it or leave it. But one thing is certain, one should not leave the company at this crisis movement and jump company, we have to stand by and bring the company back to its shape. But always our future has to be given high priority.

At a larger front, I have to take enough steps to upgrade myself and move forward. Let me see how feasible it is.  As I have mentioned in my earlier article the action packed event has started to unfold…

2008, The most forgotten year

Year 2008, the year which most of us want to forget, but no one will. Thanks to the outcomes of the year 2008. Thou the start was exhilarating, the end was discouraging & daunting. 2008 hovered on one keyword, with which the entire world is operating, economy. The year saw the most number of brutal terror attacks in Indian subcontinent. The year saw the rise of new super power(s) by suppressing the monopolies, both in world politics and sports. The year saw the dream of Martin Luther King comes true. The year saw the world becoming even more flat. On the whole I could term this year as a year with corrective actions.

Personally, 2008 will be one of the most memorable years in my life, the year in which I completed quarter century in this action-packed world, the year in which I had my first aboard & flight journey experience. The year taught me how to handle failures, how opportunities should not be wasted, how to handle life in relative terms and many more. An exciting year indeed!! Let me recapitulate what happened in 2008.

Bull and Bear face of the economy.

Many thought the first quarter of the calendar year was the best quarter, which saw glooming economy. Stock markets increased by close to 50%, YoY, cutting across geographies. Inflation increased, oil prices increased to 147 USD per barrel. All companies’ quarter and financial year results were positive. Emerging powers like India, China, Brazil fought hard to attain double digit growth, recruitments were at its peek. Unemployment rates decreased and many more happened. Not many would have noticed that the last bit of space available in the balloon, world economy, is getting filled and it is going to burst at any time. And as expected the world economy busted and recession was felt across geographies. Everything started with the sub prime crisis in USA and went on with bankruptcies by bank & automotive majors. Unemployment went on to 26 years high in USA, growth rates were in negative and all major countries went on to fill their recession reports on 2nd quarter of the financial year 2008, for instance Japan, a growing economy for past few decades, filled the decade’s lowest growth rates. Exports and imports crashed.  India’s Bombay stock exchange, which touched 21K in the year beginning, went on to as low as less than 8K in October end. If there is one mantra which was flouting around all major industries, then that is “cost cutting”. Many job cuts were also done using this mantra word. Thou oil rates slashed to less than 50 USD per barrel, all business which are mainly depended on oil still faced the axe, for instance aviation industry. On the whole  close to 800 billion USD was given as bailout by various countries’ government, saying this as a corrective measure, do you think just bumping in 800 billion USD into world economy will not have any adverse effect? I would say wait and see for its effect. Growing economies like China, India reduced their targets from double digit growth to 7%, which is still good because all the other major countries are giving negative growth.  When this crisis end and the economy will be back to normal state? The answer is the famous saying “only God knows”.

Rise of bad powers.

If there is one thing that constantly increased in 2008, then it got to be the terrorism. Terrorism in Indian subcontinent rose to a new level, thanks to well versed indirect support from Pakistan. Close to half a thousand people died in India alone. In 2008, the targets of terrorism were on so called safest and important cities of India. It also struck across the length and breadth of the country. From IT capital to financial capital to India’s capital, every important citiy were targeted and the aftermath efforts of these attacks were as usual power packed with blame games & vote bank politics. The pick of the lot among the attacks was the Mumbai terror attack, so called India’s 9/11. This attack forced India to be in jeopardise situation on whether to tackle the rising recession or to make forceful moves to control terrorism. This was an attack which also bought the entire people to react against politicians, Thanks to movement “Enough is Enough”, which was duly supported by media campaign. The attack also tasted the lives of some of India’s finest officers. One of the aftermath effects was strong reactions not only from India but also from rest of the world against Pakistan. Situation is so bad that we can even see a repeat of what US did to Afghanistan by India on Pakistan. But as an individual, we want only one thing better security, better process to tackle terror, better equipments for our respected guards, better feeling of being safe, but will the new year give all these? Well let us wait and watch.

Move away, it is my (our) turn now!!

The 2008 recession not only thought us a lesson, but also showed us a glimpse of who will be the next super power. 2008 showed us how USA, the unanimous superpower, paved way for the upcoming economies to take the responsibility. Yes, it was a year for China, India & South Korea to prove their credibility. China showed the world want they are capable of not only by conducting the best ever Olympics games, which turned Beijing into a dream land, but also when the entire world unanimously looked at them for help during recession periods. India too for its part shocked the great nations with continuous growth, which was cutting across all sectors. Along with them growing economies like Brazil, South Korea and others continuously marked the rise felt and gave a tuff time to the so called developed nations, G8 nations. If there any rise in 2008 which has to be seen at the top and praised, then it is undoubtedly the raise of Barack Obama, which made Luther’s dream come true. USA was once well known for its racist act on black people and not many would have thought that this will change, but when Obama was termed as president elect, it was clearly evident that it is no more a divided states of America and it is actually United States of America. Yes, the power of “Yes, We Can” is going to rule not only USA but also the world in a significant manner. Another rise was the rise of EURO, which defeated US dollar and trying to defeat another super currency, Great Britain pound. The rise of upcoming powers was cutting across all areas from economy to space to sports. When India’s space centre, ISRO, successfully landed its first non manned satellite into moon the entire world was astonished and started to realize India’s power. Obama, who was US president candidate during that time, mentioned in is speech that “We should not be left behind in the space war”, this statement clearly shows that ISRO’s success had impacted the super power. In Olympics China headed the medals tally putting an end to USA’s continuous dominance in the games. While South Africa and India thrashed the mighty Australia in cricket, Spain dominated in Cycling, Tennis and in other sports.  IPL, a cricketing event brought entire world cricket’s attention to India. The list does not stop here, but if you ask me whether these growths will sustain and will they really replace the super powers? My answer will be “Wait and watch the power packed action unfolding in front of you”.

Do you still believe that the world’s shape is round?

With Chinese & Indian companies went on an acquiring spree, world thought that the world is hammered hard to make it flat. Tata’s acquisitions of Chorus, Jaguar are the best listed examples for this. US companies pressuring USA’s government to sign a unconditional and special nuclear treaty with India was also a important fact to show how much US companies were interested in doing business in India. Companies spread across; business went beyond boundaries, racism, nationality nor does any partiality was shown by the companies. All global companies continued to have one mantra “spread, spread and spread as soon as possible”. We should not be surprised if America, India & Uganda become the same in all aspect, in the process hammering the world to become flat.

2008, a perfect masala entertainer

In the end 2008 turned out to be a perfect bollywood masala entertainer. It started of well with world economy being at its peek, then had lot of fun and comedy in between and then comes the villain, recession, who shattered all the joy and continued to give more and more tragedy and pain. As in bollywood flims we do had some flights, this time fight was against terrorism. Many heroes like US bailout, UK bailouts, China bailouts tried to kill the villan but at the end, unlike in normal movies, Villan wins bringing sadness to everyone.

Let every one of us hope that this new year does not have any bad twists and turns as the earlier one had and this new year act as a perfect hero and kill the villan and bring the happiness and successes needed. Be prepared to see a power packed action and drama movie called 2009.

2009, please give the peace & happiness a chance to prove what they are capable of.

May all the bad things associated with you, the grudge & ego you developed and the wrong things that you have been doing end and 2009 bring all the happiness needed.

I would like to end this article with one thing that I believe and if we do it, success in inevitable.

“One should not only do the things, which are up to his/her potentials. He/she should do things, which are above his/her potentials, that’s when you actually learn new things & achieve new heights and doing so will make success a habit and not a destiny”.
