Life with options

Why we are worried?
I always wondered why we feel that life in childhood, school & college, what we term as golden period, were always better & happier than the life after those periods.
Why we weren’t worried too much in those days and why we are worrying too much now.

The secret behind “Happily Ever after period”
One thing which struck my mind was, in that golden period, we never had options to choose from in our life.

In childhood, we never had situation, were we had options to choose from. Only thing to do was to play, so we did it and lived happily ever after.

Most of us never had an option in school days other studying till 12th standard. So we did it and lived happily ever after. In college days too, the same situation more or less continued.

We were never really left some options to choose from in most of the life. In simple terms, we were living a life without options. And we accepted it as such and never complaint about it and lived happily in it without worries.

Options & worries came together.

Now in this age, where most of us are leading a life, which we dreamt of or working hard to lead the life, which we are dreaming of, life is full of situations attached with several options. Whenever, we face a situation, we are left with several options to handle the situation.

The option, which we select to handle the current situation, will lead to another situation in life and that situation is associated with several options again. And this chain continues.

Now what is happening with most of us is, after we adapted an option to handle a situation, we are not settled with it. We are still continuing to think & analyse about the other options, which we did not select. And our monkey mind, sometimes thinks in a way that the other option, would have been better than this.

When we lead to other situation, because of the option selected, most of us think that this situation arise, because we choose a wrong option in the previous situation and the other rejected option is now felt as better one. And this thinking continues thorough out.

I would say in the current age, most of us spend a considerable amount of time on analysing the option for the current situation or the future situation and in that time period also, we worry about the consequences to be faced or faced by the option taken by us.

So I think, had the worries started in one’s life, the movement he faces a situation with options to solve it.

Probably, life would have been like “happily ever after”, if we had no options to select from. But, if that has been the case, life would have been monotonous and boring and with no challenges.
